Here’s to Your Health with Rhonda Hubbard

Local health and wellness expert Rhonda Hubbard

What if your road to better health and wellness started with a commitment to take steps to a healthier lifestyle-including eating better, drinking more water, finding variety in your exercise, and reducing stress?  My name is Rhonda Hubbard and that is what I get to help people do each day.  My purpose is to help others find balance in life, make positive changes and inspire others to live a healthier life.  My business is LIVE WELL. I am a certified licensed Wellness Coach, wellness consultant for a whole food company, public speaker/health education, certified group fitness trainer and have 25 years experience in the health and fitness industry.  My greatest role in life is being a wife to Roland and a mother to Brett and Cody. We live in Bonne Terre, Mo.

There is snow on the ground and some may think you are a little crazy for being out on the road cycling so what are your options?   Why not try a spinning class? A great way to train for a road race and keep up your endurance. Others suggestions for keeping yourself in shape during the winter months would be Yoga or Pilates videos. Cyclists can lose flexibility so stretching can be a great way to stay in shape. You might want to try some indoor swimming at your local community center or some light weight lifting. You will definitely burn a ton of calories by being in the gym verses sitting on the couch waiting for the snow to melt.

The key to living our lives free from negative thought is to remember who we truly are free from our momentary emotional shifts. The following are powerful tips that may prove to be a stepping stone into a more joy filled life:

  1. Sleep. Sleep is absolutely essential to improve and maintain energy levels, immune system effectiveness, mental and emotional clarity and overall quality of life. When you feel good, you function better.
  2. Develop your positive attitude. It is all about letting go of the “emotional baggage” that holds us back from true enlightenment! All that you require is already within you, so do not give your power away by blindly following others. Rather, trust in the goodness that already resides within your heart.
  3. Follow the principles of holistic health. Eat lots of fruits/veggies and make time for exercise.
  4. Choose to use positive self talk.
  • I will think of myself as successful!
  • I will have positive expectations for everything I do!
  • I will remind myself of past successes!
  • I will not dwell on failures, I just will not repeat them!
  • I will surround myself with positive people and ideas!
  • I will keep trying until I achieve the results I want!

“Your mental attitude is something you can control outright and you must use self-discipline until you create a Positive Mental Attitude — your mental attitude attracts to you everything that makes you what you are.”
Napoleon Hill
